Understanding and using emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • What is EQ (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationships)
  • Identifying your own emotional intelligence levels, your strengths and areas for improvement.
  • The importance of emotions in interpersonal relationships and the influence of EQ
  • Develop strategies to manage your emotions and respond appropriately to others.
  • Use EQ to build stronger relationships and improve collaboration
Cultural Awareness.
  • What exactly is culture?
  • Understanding stereotypes
  • The impact of unconscious bias
  • Communications differences and building respect
Dealing with difficult conversations.
  • When and where difficult conversations occur, i.e., giving feedback, conflict or sensitive topics
  • The psychology behind why conversations can be difficult, i.e., fear of conflict/misunderstanding.
  • Develop strategies for staying calm and maintaining control during difficult conversations.
  • Practicing active listening skills, asking open-ended questions, and summarising key points.
  • Framing difficult conversations positively to ensure productive, solution-oriented dialogue.
Being more assertive.
  • Defining assertive, passive and aggressive behaviour.
  • Learning to overcome barriers to assertiveness, such as fear of conflict or low self-esteem.
